Burlington, Vermont · Est. 2019
A neighborhood roastery where wood-fired espresso meets scratch-made pastries — and there's always a seat by the window.
Our Story
Ember & Oak started in 2019 when Mara and Thea took over a shuttered hardware store on Pine Street, salvaged its original oak shelving, and wheeled in a 12-kilo drum roaster they named "Agnes." The name is our whole philosophy: the ember is the fire we roast over, the oak is the room we built to share it.
We roast in small batches every week, pull every shot on a lever machine, and bake our pastries before sunrise. Nothing here is rushed — which is exactly the point. Whether you're grabbing a cortado on your way to the lake or settling in for an afternoon of work, you're family while you're here.
